Step 2 Interview/Demo (pick either a, b or c plus have your backdrop, lighting and headphones ready to go)

a. smart demo (smartphone) - 5 question quiz, teach for 2.5 minutes on 1 slide that mimics 1/6 different slides & VIP gets back with you within 24 hours
b. recorded - 5 question quiz, watch someone teaching, teach 3 different slides on a recording & VIP gets back with you within 24 hours                                                                c. live - schedule 30 minute interview with VIPKid, teach 5 minute lesson called Me, Myself & I and they will pretend to be a students plus you get to request a pay rate which is not an option for a/b

Slide 1 Intro: 

Me, Myself and I: Who Am I? (introduce yourself-"Hello, my name is Teacher Allison", meet the student-"What is your name?" prompt the student to say "My name is ________." and if time allows ask their age too)

Slide 2 Reward:  soccer ball, draw line icon or a different reward

They have soccer but you can always use your own reward. As you build your repeat students you will become familiar with their interest and that should drive your reward. 

Slide 3: HFW: emoji-sad

"sad" (say it regular, whisper it and pretend to yell it to break this up) "He is sad." - (count with your fingers so the student is aware the output should be 3 words )

Slide 4: Voc: emoji-sad and happy, circle icon

"He is sad." "Who is sad?" "He is sad." (again use your fingers to represent 3 words in the sentence) if you have time for extension add-"Who is happy?" "She is happy."

Slide 5: Voc: emoji-sad and happy, line icon

HFW "happy" "sad" (say it regular, whisper it and pretend to yell it) "She is_______."

Slide 6: Phonics: blocks or dry erase board

Slide 7: Goodbye: reward and star wrap up, extension if time permits and goodbye

Step 3 Certification Center

a. Mock(s) - 2/3 cert. (lower level slides): it will be Mock A or B so be prepared for both

Mock A: props-ball, circle icon (2-D), girl playing with ball (2-D), boy playing with a ball (2-D), kite, conjugation sheet (sent in previous e-mail), print off the words "throw" "throw​s​" , whiteboard or blocks, dry-erase pen

 

Slide 1-Intro: name, age, emotions emoji-"Are you happy?" (prior knowledge & prompt full sentences)

Slide 2-Rewards: feel free to use your own, if not teach "drag and drop" for the toys

Slide 3-HFW: ball (say, whisper, yell), "She plays with the ball." (hold up five fingers to represent the words within the sentence frame), cup your ear when you want the student to repeat

Slide 4-Sentence Frame: T "What does he/she play?" (hold hands up or scratch your head for what) S"He plays with a ball." "She plays with a ball."

Slide 5-HFW: ball & kite (say, whisper, yell), T "What does he play with?" S"He plays with a ball." "He plays with a kite."

Slide 6-Verb: throw (say, whisper, yell) T"He throws." S"He throws."

Slide 7-Verb: repeat⬆️ "She throw​s​." "I throw." "He throw​s​."

Slide 8-Phonics: /ip/. z ➕ip zip  r➕ip rip s➕ip sip h➕ip hip

Slide 9-Extension (put sentence frames up on wall across from you for this slide so you can review): circle different objects and for each start sentence frame -T "What do you see?" S"I see a ball." T "What do you do with a ball?" S"He throws the ball." "I throw the ball."

Slide 10-Goodbye: T"How many?" - count your rewards, T "Great job!, T "I'll see you next time."

 

Mock B: kite, doll, circle icon, draw line, conjugation, print off words "fly" "flie​s​" "swing"

Slide 1-Intro: name, age, emotions emoji-"Are you happy?" (prior knowledge & prompt full sentences)

Slide 2-Reward: feel free to use your own, if not teach "drag and drop" for the toys

Slide 3-HFW: kite (say, whisper, yell) doll (say, whisper, yell)-circle the word on the screen prior to initially saying

Slide 4-Voc: draw a line from doll to girl T"This is her doll." (hold up 4 fingers to represent the words within the sentence) draw a line from kite to girl T"She flies a kite."

Slide 5-Sent.: T"What is it?" T"It is a doll." T"What is it?" S"It is a kite." (hold up 4 fingers to represent the words within the sentence), THINK GRADUAL RELEASE

Slide 6-Sent.: T"Who flies a kite? S"He flies a kite." "I fly a kite." "My sister flies a kite.'

Slide 7-Sent.: S"He flies." "She flies." It flies."

Slide 8-Sent." S "She flies a kite." They fly a kite." I fly a kite."

Slide 9: ball T "Do you throw a ball?" S "yes, I throw a ball." swing T"Do you swing on a swing?" S"No, I don't swing on a swing."

Slide 10- Sent.: T"Do you fly a kite?" S"Yes, I fly a kite." T"Do you throw a ball?" S"Yes, I throw a ball." T"Do you swing on a swing." S"Yes, I sing on a swing."

Slide 11-Sent.: T"Do they fly a kite?" S"They fly a kite." T"Does he throw a ball?" S"He throw​s​a ball."

Slide 12-Extension/Free Talk: (put sentence frames up on wall across from you for this slide so you can review): circle different objects and for each start sentence frame -T"What do you see?" S"kite" prompt them to use a sentence T/S"I see a kite." T"Do you fly a kite?" S"No, I do not fly a kite." T"Do you throw a ball?" or "Does she throw a ball." S"Yes, she throws a ball."

Slide 13-Goodbye T"How many?" - count your rewards, T "Great job!, T "I'll see you next time."

or 4/5 cert. (higher level)(there is the option for both but it is easier if you wait until after you are hired)

Step 4 Contract & TESOL                                                      a. background check from a 3rd party: driver license/passport, certifications for teaching, social security card, diploma/transcript, 3 pictures and video                                b.TESOL certification - reading and 2 quizes (approximately 1-2 hour course)
